Accessibility

This accessibility statement applies to the VANTIS website at vantis.org.uk. VANTIS is being designed with accessibility as a core requirement, with WCAG 2.2 AA as the target standard.

Using this website

VANTIS is being developed so that users can:

• navigate core website functions using a keyboard;
• see a visible keyboard focus indicator;
• skip directly to the main page content;
• use semantic headings and navigation landmarks;
• zoom and resize text without losing essential content;
• use form fields with associated labels and accessible validation messages; and
• reduce motion where their device or browser requests it.

Compliance status

VANTIS is targeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are not currently claiming full or partial WCAG compliance because the complete website, including its interactive data visualisations, has not yet undergone a formal accessibility audit against that standard.

Known limitations and areas requiring further testing

VANTIS is in active development. The Population dashboard includes interactive data filtering, an age profile visualisation and an interactive geographic map. These analytical components require further keyboard, screen-reader, zoom/reflow, colour-contrast and non-visual alternative testing before VANTIS makes a WCAG compliance claim.

Additional dashboards, data tables, visualisations and downloadable documents will require accessibility testing as they are introduced. No untested functionality is being presented as WCAG compliant.

Navigation and account functions

VANTIS includes registration, sign-in, password recovery, profile management and authenticated feedback functions. Accessibility improvements made during development include visible focus treatment, labelled form controls, validation and status messaging, keyboard-operable navigation and Escape-key handling for the mobile navigation menu. These functions remain subject to continuing testing as the service develops.

Security checks

Registration and authenticated feedback use Cloudflare Turnstile as a security control. VANTIS will continue to assess keyboard operation, focus order and the accessibility of this third-party security component as part of wider accessibility testing.

Documents and data

VANTIS content may include data tables, downloadable documents and analytical outputs. Accessibility requirements will be considered when these formats are introduced, including appropriate structure, labelling and accessible HTML alternatives where reasonably required.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you experience an accessibility problem, need information in a different format or have difficulty using any part of the website, contact vantisdataintelligence@gmail.com.

Please include the page or function affected and, where possible, a brief description of the problem so that it can be investigated.

Testing and review

The website has been reviewed during development for structural accessibility features including semantic page landmarks, keyboard focus visibility, skip navigation, responsive layout, form labelling, status messaging, mobile navigation and reduced-motion support. A complete WCAG 2.2 AA audit, including keyboard-only, screen-reader, zoom/reflow, colour-contrast, focus-order, error-identification and interactive data-visualisation testing, has not yet been completed.
