Website information

Cookies

This page explains how VANTIS uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies.

What cookies are

Cookies are small pieces of information stored on a device when a website is used. Similar technologies can also store or access information on a device, including local storage and security tokens.

Current use on VANTIS

VANTIS does not currently use advertising, marketing or behavioural-tracking cookies on the website. VANTIS uses Vercel Web Analytics for privacy-focused website measurement, but this analytics service is designed to operate without placing analytics cookies on visitors' devices.

VANTIS uses security and account-related technologies that are necessary to provide and protect requested services, including registration, authentication and feedback functions.

Vercel Web Analytics

VANTIS uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure website usage, including information such as page views, visitor numbers, referral sources, approximate country, browser, operating system and device information. This helps VANTIS understand how the service is used and where it can be improved.

Vercel Web Analytics does not rely on analytics cookies and does not allow VANTIS to track visitors across unrelated websites. VANTIS does not use the analytics information for advertising or behavioural profiling. Further information about this processing is provided in the VANTIS Privacy notice.

VANTIS authentication cookie

When you sign in, VANTIS sets a strictly necessary cookie named vantis_access_token. It contains the session access token required by the VANTIS server to recognise your authenticated session and provide signed-in account and data functions.

The cookie is configured as HttpOnly so that normal browser scripts cannot read it, uses the Secure attribute in production, uses SameSite=Lax and applies across the VANTIS website. Its lifetime is limited to the Supabase session lifetime returned at sign-in and is capped by VANTIS at one hour. Signing out removes the VANTIS authentication cookie and VANTIS also attempts to invalidate the corresponding Supabase session.

Cloudflare Turnstile

VANTIS uses Cloudflare Turnstile on registration and authenticated feedback submissions to help protect the website from automated submissions, bots and abuse. Turnstile may use cookies or similar technologies and may process technical information needed to perform that security check.

VANTIS treats these technologies as strictly necessary because they are used to secure requested website functions rather than for advertising, analytics or behavioural profiling.

Supabase authentication

VANTIS uses Supabase to provide account registration, authentication, email verification and password-recovery services. Authentication and security technologies associated with these functions are used where necessary to create, verify, secure or administer a VANTIS account.

Hosting and security infrastructure

Vercel hosts and delivers the VANTIS website. Hosting and security infrastructure may use essential technical mechanisms required to route requests, protect the service, maintain reliability or enforce security controls.

Why there is no cookie consent banner

VANTIS does not currently use non-essential cookies or similar browser-storage technologies that require consent. Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless, while technologies used for website security, fraud prevention, authentication or delivery are used only where they are considered necessary to provide or protect a service requested by the user.

If VANTIS introduces advertising, behavioural tracking, analytics cookies or other non-essential storage or access technologies in future, those technologies will not be activated until the required consent controls are in place.

Managing cookies

Most browsers allow you to inspect, block or delete cookies and other stored website data. Blocking or deleting technologies that are strictly necessary for security or authentication may prevent registration, sign-in, feedback or other account functions from working correctly, or may sign you out.

Future changes

The technologies used by VANTIS may change as the service develops. This notice and any consent controls will be updated before non-essential storage or access technologies are introduced.

Review date

This notice was last updated on 13 September 2026 and will be reviewed whenever the website's use of cookies, browser storage or similar technologies changes materially.
